Somewhere in the previous few months came the crawling, pounding acceptance that the pandemic and the isolation it carries with it — is not going anywhere in near future. And keeping in mind that get-togethers or mass-gatherings are gone out of the picture for a long time to come, many people have started arranging parties at home with family & friends.

With so much uncertainty in the current scenario, planning a karaoke party can be a fun event to enjoy with your family & friends. Spending a lot more time indoors, nothing could be better than singing on your favorite tracks with your best pals. However, it can be a bit hard to choose the songs that make you sound good & create a fun environment. To make things simpler, we have come up with some quick tips that will help you pick out the best karaoke songs –

  • Create a List of Songs –

Create a list of your favorite songs that you enjoy performing to. It is important for you to enjoy the songs so that your audience can have fun too. This is because listeners enjoy more when a performer is enjoying a karaoke performance.

  • Keep the Audience Choice in Mind –

Of course, it is important to pick a song that you like so that you can sing it with ease. But it is equally important to select the songs of your audience’s taste. You can try some mixed songs like retro hits, peppy tracks, soulful Ghazals, and many more such options.

  • Pick Popular Tracks –

People usually know the lyrics of fairly popular songs and love to sing along with them. Thus, it is good to keep some well-liked tracks in your karaoke playlist to make your performance more engaging & entertaining too.

  • Consider Your Vocal Ability –

Vocal ability holds utmost importance when it comes to karaoke singing. Determine whether you are better at singing low notes or high notes beforehand so that you can perform without any difficulty. As every person has their own singing ability, it is not advisable to pick songs that are not in your vocal range.

  • Keep a Check On Tempo –

Never go for a song that is either too fast or too slow. Slow songs are usually hard to sing as compared to fast songs. Therefore try to balance the tempo of the songs while you sing so that you don’t go off-track & end up spoiling your karaoke performance.

  • Say No to Lengthy Songs –

The length of the song is the final thing that requires due consideration. Lengthy songs usually make your audience bored. Therefore it is always better to pick numerous short songs rather than picking few lengthy songs. This will let your audience want more rather than getting busy in their own talks & ignoring your boring performance.

So that’s it! Karaoke singing is not just for an individual, it becomes more fun when several people are involved in it. There are many choices of picking popular karaoke tracks and that freedom of choice is one element that makes Regional Karaoke the best one! If you want to leave a lasting impression on your audience and surprise everyone with your singing, visit our online store today and download your favorite karaoke songs with lyrics at never-before prices!

Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ completed 6 years today. Bhumi debut with this film in 2015. Producer-director duo Maneesh Sharma and Sharat Katariya are yet in quite a disbelief that they won the distinguished National Film Awards for the Best motion picture in Hindi. Maneesh and Sharat opened about their journey into making this fresh, timeless romance on this big day.

DLKH was your first film as a producer at YRF. What made you’re taking the plunge as a producer?
Maneesh: Some take the plunge; others are tripped into the pool. I’m the latter. Producing films was nowhere in my scheme of things, but I had not anticipated 1 Mr Aditya Chopra’s plans. Shuddh Desi Romance had just released, and that I was prepping for Fan. One fine day, a conversation initiated by Adi led to me becoming a producer just about overnight. C ‘est la vie!

You broke through in Bollywood with DLKH – did you expect this reaction once you were writing the film?
Sharat: No, one isn’t thinking any quite (such thing), one is usually unsure and is generally trying to write down with the simplest possible ideas one can have while writing. There was no expectation, if you’re asking, I used to be overwhelmed by the reaction but never expected it like that.

As a producer, what are the type of stories that you want to tell?
Maneesh: regardless of which role i’m engaged in a movie with – producer, director or story writer – I rely tons on my instinct. It’s tons to try to to with what feels right at that stage of life, and you click with a narrative or a personality or a genre and you back your instinct and plan to invest some time and energy into the method. So far, that’s mostly worked on behalf of me, I guess.

What does one thing is that the USP of DLKH that it’s achieved a cult status?
Sharat: I do not know; I honestly do not know. I saw the film a year after it had been released, again, at a movie festival with the audience, and afterwards, also, a few years later, again I saw it. I still do not know what worked with the audience, but I’m assuming that It still may be a hypothetical answer from my end, maybe the comedy, the characters, or I do not know what worked, or what was new in it, because once I hear the word ‘fresh’, I do not know what was fresh in it? I haven’t any idea; I can not break it down for myself. If I could, I might do this again.

When you and Sharat were teaming up for DLKH – did you expect the film to succeed in where it’s now?
Maneesh: All we hoped for was for the audience to attach to the narrative’s grounded and nostalgic quality. The love and heat the film has received over time do validate our conviction. Each film has its measure of ambition. This one did tick many of the boxes.

You have India, a fresh, new and exciting pairing of Ayushmann and Bhumi, who has now had a hattrick of hits. What does one think made these two so endearing in DLKH that folks have loved them ever since?
Sharat: It’s just their talent, nothing else! It’s their talent to step into the character’s skin and become the characters they’ve asked for, for any film they are doing. I am sure that’s why their movies work, and their performances work, then yes, it’s purely their talent.
What was the first thing you and Sharat said to every other once you won the film’s National Award?
Maneesh: Kya baat kar raha hai !!
What was your reaction once you won the National Award for the film?

Sharat: I even have very fond memories. One thing was that I need to know of it from a friend’s tweet. I didn’t realize it when it had been being announced, so one among my friends tweeted it and that I need to know and that I was like ‘really?’ i used to be not expecting it and that i wasn’t even aware that awards were announced or (the film was) submitted for the awards. I’ll tell you bit by bit what had happened; my first reaction was like, Oh God! I won’t be ready to work the entire day now. First, it wasn’t sinking in, but it sank in when there have been multiple phone calls then, and I remember calling Maneesh. I told him that the film had won a National Award for the film and the simplest singer (Monali) and Varun (Grover) for the simplest lyrics. So, he was also equally surprised, and he said, what are you saying! Then phone calls started coming, and therefore the phone was ringing non-stop. This has never happened to me; there have been numerous phone calls; it had been overwhelming an overwhelming experience.

Actress Nithya Menen is certainly taking an occasion in Kerala. While various would think that the lockdown was an extensive break, Nithya disagrees. “It was just five months, and I’ve taken longer breaks than that. Everyone seems like a year went so fast, but it wasn’t a year. The lockdown was lifted in August, and that I am shooting from September. I even have been home just one occasion since then,” says the actress, who finished dubbing her portions for Indhu VS’ 19(1)(a) that also has Vijay Sethupathi and Indrajith Sukumaran. In conversation with Nithya.

Compared to your films within the other industries that have you ever in diverse roles from cameos to female protagonists, in Malayalam, you’ve got been a part of movies, like Praana and 19(1)(a), during which the story revolves around your character.

Honestly, I hadn’t considered that till you mentioned it. These sorts of movies give me a pleasant space; naturally, if a movie is that character, there’s a big emotional graph. But I even have also done Kolaambi, which isn’t entirely on me. There are tons of other actors, and Renji Panicker and Rohini’s characters have much more screen space within the film.

Frankly, while choosing movies, I don’t check whether it is a multi-starrer or a single-heroine project. I hear a narration, and I like it, I do it; it’s that straightforward. If I prefer the script, it doesn’t matter where my character falls in it. That’s why you see the range. If I had a criteria, you’d have seen a pattern.

What can you tell us about working in 19(1)(a) after the lockdown?
We had planned to shoot the movie before the lockdown started. So, the minute the lockdown was announced, we had to place everything on hold, and once the restrictions were lifted, we could start soon as everything was ready. The story was narrated to me years ago, and it’s been in my mind ever since. I like the film because there are things in it that I had never done before. The character, the pace of the movie, certain scenes and shots within the film – all of which I even have never wiped out my career.

Was it an emotionally exhausting character?

Not even a touch bit. It’s the precise opposite. I used to be extremely happy throughout the shoot. It’s a subtle movie.
How was it working with Vijay Sethupathi in an exceedingly Malayalam film?
Sethupathi and I only had a couple of days of shoot together, but both folks enjoyed shooting. He thought we didn’t have enough scenes together. Our combination scenes were nice to shoot, and that we all felt the two characters were wealthy together and had excellent chemistry.

During the lockdown, you had said that you had plans to direct a movie. And in the projects conceived and executed during the pandemic, most are more involved because the cast and crew are limited. Does it help in gaining directorial lessons?
I am repeatedly asked about direction, and that I say, ‘Yes, I might like to.’ But it doesn’t mean I’m getting to direct now. It doesn’t have a time-frame or plan as of now. Currently, I feel I even have to try to do more in terms of acting.

As for shooting during the pandemic, there was a slight change when it came to 19(1)(a) because it had been shot in Kerala, and therefore the State is stringent when it involves following pandemic restrictions. We had a small crew, and that I enjoyed it immensely. The very fact that there weren’t too many of us on the sets meant there wasn’t an excessive amount of noise and chaos. I used to be optimistic before the lockdown, thinking that folks are now getting to know that you can shoot with a smaller crew. I always want to have a problem with the chaos on the sets. It’s something that disturbs me immensely. But it’s bounced right back to normal now.
