Filmmaker Raj Kaushal Passes Away! B-town offers condolences to Mandira Bedi
Popular filmmaker and producer Raj Kaushal passes away early this morning (June 30). The news of Raj’s sudden demise came as a shock for the entire industry. He is survived by wife Mandira Bedi and two children. He was seen partying on 27th June with his friends and family and nobody could ever imagine that he will leave all of us so suddenly. He was at home and by the time he could get any medical help, he passed away on Wednesday morning after a massive heart attack.
His funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon at Shivaji Ground in Mumbai. Actor Ronit Roy and Ashish Choudhary were among those who paid their last respects to the filmmaker. As soon as the news of his demise came out, his family and friends offered condolences to the family.
Rohit posted and emotional note writing “And just like that, he’s gone, even without saying good bye. Too numb with grief and shock to react. This is not fair, just not fair.”
Filmmaker Onir tweeted, “Gone too soon. We lost Filmmaker and Producer @rajkaushal1 this morning. Very Sad. He was one of the producers of my first film #MyBrotherNikhil. One of those few who believed in our vision and supported us. Prayers for his soul.”
Neha Dhupai shared a recent photo from a get-together that featured Raj and Mandira and wrote “Can’t believe you are not with us anymore. Mandira , my strong strong girl, I am at a loss of words. My heart belongs to Vir and Tara. I’m shaken up and in shock and disbelief as I write this.”
Ronnie Screwvala wrote, “Deepest condolences @mandybedi for your sudden and deep loss – to lose a life companion is devastating and all our prayers with you and the family.”
Actor Divya Dutta also tweeted and wrote “What! Omg! No! Gone too soon Raj!”
Tisca Chopra called the unfortunate event “shocking.”
“My heart goes out to @mandybedi and her two lovely kids. #RIP our happy smiling Raj… Your gentle soul will be missed,” Tisca’s tweet read.
The writer-director-producer has started his advertising production company and went on to direct over 800 commercials. Raj & Mandira married in 1999 and have welcomed their son Vir in 2011 and adopted a 4 year old daughter Tara last year.
